Hey there! Rob Reynar here, talking about Bow Ridge retaining walls, some more issues have popped up on that. There has been a lot of controversy about the announcement by the Calgary Real Estate Board that realtors and therefore the consumers should be concerned about a couple of streets in Bow Ridge. I have a tough time with quite of doing that as I have blogged them all before because they don't send out those notices for every issue in every neighborhood. I'll go back to Gleneagles, they did not treat Bow Ridge the same as Gleneagles and vice versa. My tip here is to individual homeowner who lives in Bow Ridge Drive or Bow Ridge Link, get an independent analysis of from the town, form the engineer about your home and it's relation to the wall that it's sitting on. Get that in paper so that you can go to the market with confidence and say to the buyer, "hey we had our house checked out, don't worry about the problems that are going on else where in the neighborhood, we've been checked out." Get it on paper, get an engineer to look at the wall and move forward from there. I personally have had buyers say that they are maybe a little bit leery of the area because this issue has popped up. I think that's really unfair to the individual homeowner because it takes a lot to do diligence to find out if there's actually a problem on any given home. So, tip to the homeowner on Bow Ridge Drive or Bow Ridge Link, get an engineer to look at your house and the wall that you're sitting on and go to the market with confidence from there.
