Rural NW, Big Horn, Mountain View

The Rural NW search district encompasses a huge area to the north and west of Cochrane and includes portions of Rocky View County, Mountain View County and the Municipal District of Bighorn. To the north are the Towns of Water Valley and Cremona. The Bighorn MD is a very diverse region located on the eastern slopes of the Alberta Rocky Mountains, immediately adjacent to the Banff National Park. Covering approximately 2700 square kilometres. Roughly half of Bighorn's total population is found in the five hamlets located within the M.D.: Benchlands, Dead Man's Flats, Exshaw, Harvie Heights, and Lac Des Arc.
